Licensed Massage Therapist, Independent Contractor Position

Job description

​

We are looking for a part time independent contractor to offer Massage services out of our studio in Milwaukee’s Third Ward. We have dedicated hours to offer interested candidates, but are also open to "on-call" therapists for Couples Massages.

​

  • Must be licensed and insured to work as a Massage Therapist or Bodywork Therapist in the State of Wisconsin

  • Must be reliable and responsive to texts/phone calls from management

  • Must be detailed oriented and take SOAP notes on clients.

  • Certified in CPR and AED.

  • We provide the booking system and use some strategies to drive traffic to our contractors, but it should be understood that this is an independent contractor position and we do not guarantee bookings. Most of our clients are long-time regulars with whom we have each taken the time to build relationships.​

Details:

  • Compensation by service performed. 50% commission plus tips. As an independent contractor, you will receive the full 50% without taxes withheld. Taxes are your responsibility to be paid. You are not paid hourly. Your contract is for 50% of all of the services and add-ons provided.

  • As an independent contractor, you are NOT expected to be in the studio when you do not have clients.

  • Payment is processed through Somatic Arts Massage’s payment processing system. Cash payments left in a locked, secure location. Cash tips may be taken home immediately. Contractor is paid out biweekly. Contractor is responsible for checking out clients after services.

  • 30 mins finishing time in between appointments.

  • Pay can range depending on add-ons or if we decide jointly with your consent to run a promotion to fill your books.

  • Contractor is responsible for securing the studio during and after sessions by making sure the door is locked when no one is present at the front desk.

 

Pay Specifics

Pay per service and add-on (please note that there is a 30 minute finishing time for each service to allow our contractors ample time for consultation and cleaning up):

  • 60 min - $45

  • 75 min - $55

  • 90 min - $75

  • 120 min - $95

  • Hot Stone add-on - $7.50

  • Cupping add-on - $7.50

  • Hot Stone & Cupping Combination -$10

  • Aromatherapy (essential oils) add-on - $2.50

  • Herbal Infusion add-ons - $7.50

 

Pay rates for specialty services with higher rates (advanced training required):

Myofascial Release (John F Barnes Approach)

  • 45 min - $45

  • 60 min - $55

  • 75 min - $67.5

  • 90 min - $80

  • 120 min - $115

Salt & Mud Treatments-

  • 75 min - $75

  • 90 min - $90

  • 120 min - $120

Sound Therapy -

  • 60 min - $60

We are also open to new modalities that you would like to bring in for an up-charge that we would discuss while putting together your profile. Examples include but are not limited to Craniosacral Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Thai Massage Bodywork or Acupressure.
